Ok God I get it. Sitting in the woods over the weekend I opened my bible to Mark 5. There Mark tells the story of Legion. The demon possessed man who lived among the tombs with his unclean spirit. We were told “no one could tame him.” “When he saw Jesus from afar, he ran and worshiped Him.” Mark 5:6 NKJV. Here is a guy filled with many demons, ... Continue Reading »
Affirmation of God: I will run the race God has set before me with perseverance.
The course has been laid out and marked. It’s race day are we ready? Of course we are as we just face it with an expectation of endurance and perseverance. I find some peace in the fact that the Holy Scriptures acknowledges how easily we are tripped by sin. Today’s Affirmation comes from Hebrews 12:1: “let us strip off every weight that slows us ... Affirmation of God: I live on every word that comes from the mouth of God.
My life depends on it. My soul exists off of every word that comes from the mouth of God. His word is the daily bread that I survive on. Do you ever feel desperation or a dependence on His word? Are you facing a crisis or a temptation now? Lord please tell me what to do and show me the way to go. Am I living on His word? In times of crisis the ... Continue Reading »
Affirmation of God: I find life in the Word.
Today’s affirmation is taken from John 1:4: In Him was life, and the life was the light of men. Verse 5 shows our natural reaction to this light “And the light shines in the darkness, and the darkness did not comprehend it.” Can we live but not be alive? In the first three chapters of John this morning I am reminded that there is a huge ... Continue Reading »
Affirmation of God: I believe.
Jesus asked, "Do you not believe that I am in the Father, and the Father in Me?” (John 14:10 NKJ) What’s it gonna be boy yes or no? Ok that was my part but John 14 is making me unusually brief today. God DOES have a sense of humor. You know when your very own mother tells you that your writings are too long and she doesn’t have time to read them. ... Continue Reading »
Affirmation of God: I am free indeed.
Freedom, what is true freedom? True freedom seems to leave out the “but” and “ifs”. What good is it to say we have freedom but live life as though we do not. Freedom without reservation, for me, only comes as Jesus promised in John 8:36 "Therefore if the Son makes you free, you shall be free indeed.” (NKJ). Right now this very moment I am totally ... Affirmations of God: Christ lives in me and gives me hope.
You just can not make this stuff up. God’s timing His living word is hilarious. Really, agnostics and atheists may debate our scriptures but they can not debate our experiences. This God thing and the timing of His living word are amazing in spite of us. If you have just a few minutes please bear with me. Just in the past few days and hours God ... Continue Reading »
