Do you know what God has chosen for you? Earlier in Haggai 2:19 Zerubbabel was told that “from this day on I will bless you”. This was just two verses after he was told that he had not turned to God.
If we knew God had chosen us and He would bless us from this day on would we turn to Him more often?
The good news is that He HAS chosen each of us and He will bless us from this day on. May we boldly act on this promise.
Like reading a riveting novel, I yearned to read the next chapter in Haggai to see what Zerubbabel would do with this promise. Guess what, there is not a next chapter. Just as I don’t know my next chapter or yours I do know God has chosen us and made us a promise.
What will we do with our promise?
Today’s Prayer: Almighty LORD, thank You for choosing me. Forgive me for not turning to You. Thank You for Your blessings. I am encouraged by Your words and Your servants to boldly be and do what You have chosen for me. Help me to remember Your promises and to turn to You and be who You have chosen. Amen

Hi Tom! It always lifts me up to be reminded that God actually Chose Me–it means a lot to someone who was not picked for any team (lack of athletic ability/desire). But God chooses us out of His great love, not because we have, or don’t have, a spectacular talent–in fact, When He chooses us, He’s already planning to Equip us for whatever calling He has in mind for us (He can see our potential, even if we don’t have a clue).
I didn’t realize that Haggai leaves us hanging about Zerubbabel–that’s fascinating, how God shows us so often that we’re no different from the folks of old! Now I want to go back and reread that! God bless you BIG–love, sis Caddo
O Sis, I have no doubt that God chose you. He obviously chose you to exude His character. You have been picked by the Almighty God. Is there any better team? I LOVE your confirmation that HE has ALREADY equipped us, HE has already prepared the way. Go BIG in the knowledge of your chosenness (new word:)!
