Today’s Scripture: I will be found by you, declares the LORD, and I will restore your fortunes and gather you from all the nations and all the places where I have driven you, declares the LORD, and I will bring you back to the place from which I sent you into exile. Jeremiah 29:14 ESV
God is not lost. He and His servants are here. Just as in Jeremiah 29:19, God persistently sends us His word and His servants. Are we looking? Are we really seeking with all our hearts to find Him? Are we paying attention to God’s words?
God knows the plans he has for us. I pray to know what God knows. I pray to recognize His servants and to see Him at work here in this city. I find instruction here in Jeremiah 29 to pray for this city, this place where I am for God. Am I too focused on myself to see God?
We are instructed to pray for where we live. Our peace, our welfare, is affected by the peace and welfare of where we live.
Are you looking for God and praying for His peace where you are?
Today’s Prayer: LORD, I pray for the peace, prosperity and welfare of this city and that we recognize Your servants. Thank You for persistently sending us Your words. Open my eyes LORD to those around me and give me the discernment to recognize the servants You have sent. Teach me LORD how to seek You with all of my heart. Thank You for promising that in my seeking I will find You. Amen

This is a very humbling and beautiful prayer, Tom. Thank you and God bless. Our little town was hit by a tornado last fall and it certainly has brought me to prayer each day for it!
Thank you Deb. I do recall your community was hit by the tornado. When way beyond our control occur we do find God don’t we? One thing I love about the recovery ministry is always living in step 1 and realizing how powerless we really are! In our powerlessness we find and come to know God’s power. Blessings and finding.
