Today’s Scripture: What then, brothers? When you come together, each one has a hymn, a lesson, a revelation, a tongue, or an interpretation. Let all things be done for building up. I Corinthians 14:26 ESV
Do you have things building up within you or does what you have inside of you build others up? I came to 1 Corinthians 14 to revisit an old affirmation that “God is really here.” When the unbelievers in verse 25 came to the church their experience was one of realizing God was really there.
When others witness our lives will they say the same? When they see how we live and react to worldly things will they see the Spirit that is in us or will they see the flesh and worldly things that have built up in our lives.
If we live in the Spirit and seek to have the Spirit speak through us we all have a voice. We all prophesy what the Spirit prophesies to us. In all circumstances we can strengthen, encourage and comfort others. We can build them up so they know God is really here.
Will others know that God is really here?
Today’s Prayer: Father God, I desire Your Spirit and the gifts given to me. Help me to speak by the power of the Spirit. Forgive me when I speak from the flesh. I pray to You Father in spirit and pray to speak what Your Spirit speaks into me. Use Your words in me to build up others in strength, encouragement and comfort. May others see You are really here. Amen
