Today’s Scripture: Put all your rebellion behind you, and find yourselves a new heart and a new spirit. For why should you die, O people of Israel? Ezekiel 18:31 NLT
To find we must search, right? Most translations of this verse state to “make” yourselves a new heart and a new spirit. It takes action on our part to “make” something, doesn’t it?
I have found that if I only “wait” to hear the voice of God, I can sit in silence for a very long time. However, I have also found that if seek to know who God is in prayer and in His Word I find a magical combination. Well, not really magical but supernatural. We find the voice of God and the life of Jesus.
When we seek to know God and His Way we find our new heart and spirit. We find a message that God Himself has already written within us. Our new heart and new spirit is already inside of us yet to find them we must look to Him.
Where are you looking for your new heart and new spirit?
Today’s Prayer: Our Father, who art in Heaven thank You for providing our true heart and spirit. Help us find our new heart and new spirit in Your statutes and in Your Holy Spirit. In You LORD we are found. Help us to live from this new heart and new spirit and bring You glory. Amen

Amen! How refreshing! I love “put all your rebellion behind you.” Not sure why I’ve never noticed this Scripture, but I sure do love it.

Thanks Julie, I am going to have to spend some more time in Ezekiel and chapter 18 in particular. God keeps bringing me here in round about ways…He is attempting to speak something and I pray I am receiving His Spirit correctly. To put my rebellion behind me is a great place to start. Blessings in your new heart and spirit!
