Today’s Scripture: Romans 8:2 ESV- For the law of the Spirit of life has set you free in Christ Jesus from the law of sin and death.
Paul emphasizes the difference between the death that is found in the minds of our flesh and the life and peace found in the Spirit. As a Pharisee Paul experienced first-hand the sin and death that mankind’s understanding of the law can create. Not one of us can be perfect by the law but in the Spirit of God we are perfected.
The Spirit does give us life and peace. Look around at this world today and you can see the death that the minds of mankind can produce. I find much comfort knowing that the Spirit helps me in my weakness. In simple terms I find freedom every morning and also my best prayers when I trust that the Spirit Himself intercedes for me with groanings too deep for words as stated here in Romans 8:26. I find freedom, life and peace in knowing I don’t even need to know the words to pray.
Thank You Holy Spirit of setting me free. Guide my heart and my life to fulfill God’s will today.
Do you allow the Spirit to set you free?
Today’s Prayer: Father God, thank You for Your Spirit. Thank You for setting me free. I give you my heart and mind LORD. I trust in the life You intend for me and trust in Your Spirit to guide me. Thank You for hearing the groans of the Spirit on my account and use me to the fullest. Amen
