Today’s Scripture: Ephesians 5:2 NLT: Live a life filled with love, following the example of Christ. He loved us and offered himself as a sacrifice for us, a pleasing aroma to God.
We have a choice of what we will fill our life with today, don’t we?
We can fill ourselves with greed, anxiety, anger, sex, joy, peace, love and so many other things. Paul is instructing us in Ephesians 5 to choose to imitate God. God came to earth in the flesh in the form of Jesus to give us an example.
There are some things we have no place filling our cups with. They may seem harmless. We may actually enjoy them immensely, yet when filled with those things we are taking up space for things more beneficial; like love.
The best and first thing to pour into our cups every day is thankfulness to God. As early as we awake we should begin thanking God. God is love and when we thank Him we begin filling our lives with love and removing other temptations.
Will you fill your life with love today?
Today’s Prayer: Heavenly Father, thank You for being there for all of us. LORD, I am thankful for Your love for me. Thank You for sending Your son to show us how to love. I am thankful for who You are and for Your scriptures provided to guide our ways. Forgive me LORD for filling my life with too many other things. Right now LORD, I am filling my life with Your love. Please fill me up LORD. Amen
