Today’s Scripture: Romans 7:6 NLT- But now we have been released from the law, for we died to it and are no longer captive to its power. Now we can serve God, not in the old way of obeying the letter of the law, but in the new way of living in the Spirit.
I have found living in the Spirit to be awesome. I am also ok with my sinful nature. I accept as Romans 7:14 states that the trouble is with me. I do not beat myself up for the sin that lives in me. After all, Paul who wrote most of the New Testament and can say that the trouble was with him then who am I to think I could possibly do better?
I find that confessing that I want to do what is right but that I cannot carry it out keeps me humble. Even though I love God’s law with all my heart there is a power of sin within me but thanks be to God His Spirit also is within me. When I live in His Spirit I truly live and I can live humbly knowing I cannot do good but His good can live through me.

Today’s Prayer: Lord I pray that we live in Your Spirit. Thank you for Your Son Jesus Christ for freeing us and giving us Your Spirit where we can turn and where we can live. Teach us to continue to humble ourselves and know we have Your power in us but that the power is not in our flesh. Keep us mindful LORD that sin is within us but we are no longer held captive but we can live in Your new way by living in the Spirit. Amen
