Today’s Scripture: John 14:1 ESV: “Let not your hearts be troubled. Believe in God; believe also in me
Two days in a row on the same scripture? Again this is just an illustration of the life changing and world changing power of the Word of God. Just yesterday I spoke of being amazed as I read the 14th chapter of John the first verse that I hadn’t ever written on the most basic of tenants that “I believe in God”. I could not leave this verse without thinking through Jesus’ full statement.
“Believe also in me” also requires an equal belief and affirmation of “I believe in Jesus”. What? I hadn’t written on this one either? That is mind blowing! This book of John was written over two thousand years so we may believe that Jesus is the Messiah, the Son of God, and that by believing we may have life in his name as was stated in John 20:31. I have found life by believing in Him AND I have found my heart to not be troubled.
We have a choice today; we can believe in Jesus or we can believe in this world that brings so much trouble.
Today I choose to believe in Jesus, do you?
Today’s Prayer: Lord Jesus, I believe in You. Thank You for removing all troubles from my heart and for giving me life through Your life. Help me to share Your love and Your life that was given to change this world. Lord, I am praying now that this world will receive Your Word and Your love and come to know true peace, love and life. Thank You for Your Word and the trouble free heart to share it. Amen
