Today’s Scripture: Psalm 51:12 ESV – Restore to me the joy of your salvation, and uphold me with a willing spirit.
David is crying out to God here from His brokenness from his infidelity with Bathsheba.
We may feel as guilty and broken as David and that is exactly where we need to be. Because it is here in our brokenness we find God’s joy. I have found God’s joy in my brokenness and guilt and like David all I want to do is teach others of God’s ways and to sing His praises.
Are you thankful for God’s unchangeable and everlasting love? Can you place your brokenness upon His alter? We are told here in Psalm 51 that the sacrifice God wants from us is to give him our broken spirits and our broken and contrite hearts.
We can all do this can’t we? Here you go God, here is all of my guilt, my shame, my broken spirit and my broken and contrite heart. Please restore me with Your joy.
Will you give God your sacrifice of brokenness along with me? Be ready to be restored with His joy.
Today’s Prayer: Dear LORD, thank You for Your unchanging love. Thank You for accepting my brokenness as my sacrifice. Thank You for restoring and renewing my heart with joy. Your joy is complete with Your salvation. I sing Your praises Father and thank You for Your salvation. Amen
