Affirmation of God: I accept God’s promise.

Today’s Scripture: Haggai 2:19 NLT Tyndale: “I am giving you a promise now while the seed is still in the barn, before you have harvested your grain and before the grapevine, the fig tree, the pomegranate, and the olive tree have produced their crops. From this day onward I will bless you.” Has God given you something to do? Is there something you ... Continue Reading »

Affirmation of God: The Lord is my helper.

Today’s Scripture: Hebrews 13:6 NLT Tyndale: That is why we can say with confidence, “The Lord is my helper, so I will not be afraid. What can mere mortals do to me?” What do you fear? Where do you find help? Do you fear losing relationships, losing a paycheck, or just losing the comfort of the known? Do you know in your heart that change needs ... Continue Reading »

Affirmation of God: God is with me.

Today’s Scripture: Isaiah 41:10 ESV:  fear not, for I am with you; be not dismayed, for I am your God; I will strengthen you, I will help you, I will uphold you with my righteous right hand. How many times and how many ways does the LORD have to remind us that He is with us? Here in Isaiah the LORD is reminding Israel of His presence and His ... Continue Reading »

Today’s Scripture: Proverbs 23:26 KJV; My son, give me thine heart, and let thine eyes observe my ways. Who or what will we give our heart to today? Not lip service but our very heart. Who and what will we chase after today? This seems to be where the rubber meets the road and where the conflict of life and God’s instruction intersect. When our ... Continue Reading »

Affirmation of God: In God I trust.

Today’s Scripture: Psalm 143:8 ESV; Let me hear in the morning of your steadfast love, for in you I trust. Make me know the way I should go, for to you I lift up my soul. In coming to know God and who He is I come to trust Him. As we mature in faith we learn how little we can trust ourselves but how abundantly we can trust God. I heard God’s ... Continue Reading »

Affirmation of God: I have entered God’s rest.

Today’s Scripture: Hebrews 4:10 ESV; for whoever has entered God’s rest has also rested from his works as God did from his.  The writer of Hebrews encourages us to rest in our faith. If we believe the promise of God and the grace of Jesus we can rest. So, what is the “same sort of disobedience” we fall into like those in the desert under Moses ... Continue Reading »

Affirmation of God: I find the comfort of God in quietness.

Today’s Scripture: Ecclesiastes 4:6 ESV; Better is a handful of quietness than two hands full of toil and a striving after wind. We have a comforter. Will we be still long enough to find this comfort?  Solomon tells us in Ecclesiastes 4:1 that the people had no comforter but He also tells us we will find our comforter in the quietness. We can ...
