Today’s Scripture: For in him we live and move and have our being.’ As some of your own poets have said, ‘We are his offspring.’ Acts 17:28 NIV
“In him we live and move and have our being’; In God we find our true selves. When we look outside of God we try to be who those we look to think we should be.
Although God is closer to us than we think, closer than we can understand we most often look near and far for purpose and perception. We attempt to build things that have the appearance of worshipping God just as the people Paul was speaking to in Athens.
God was not in the idols these people built any more than He is in ours. If we spend more time in Him rather than spending this time building other things not only do we find Him but we find ourselves.
The us, the I am that our creator designed us to be. In God, I am.
Who are you?
Today’s Prayer: Father God, I praise who You are. You are my creator, You are my life and in You I have my being. Forgive me LORD for serving others and for seeking my life outside of You. In You I live and move and have my being. Help me LORD to find You and myself. Help me to be who You created me to be. Amen
