Today’s Scripture: And he came in the Spirit into the temple, and when the parents brought in the child Jesus, to do for him according to the custom of the Law, Luke 2:27 ESV
Simeon was led by the Spirit. That is where I want to live; in the Spirit of God.
Simeon was told he would see the Messiah before he died. If you knew you would see the Messiah how expectantly would you round each corner? How deeply would you look into the eyes of those you meet? How richly would you listen to the speech of others?
We can ask God and His Spirit to lead us. He can lead us into our quiet time with Him and He can lead us into every moment with expectation. I want my spiritual senses to be heightened; to be on the lookout constantly.
It is here I want to live. It is here where I want to be expectant of God and His Spirit. It is here I want to peer into the souls of everyone I meet. I want to live here.
What ways help you live in the Spirit?
Today’s Prayer: Father God, thank You for Your Holy Spirit. What power, what assurance we have with Him. Thank You for this gift. Help me LORD God to live and walk with You. Only You know our human capacity to live there but I ask You to have me stay in the Spirit and have the Spirit stay in me. I desire to walk with You God in all things and in all ways. Keep me close. Amen.

Love the word “expectant” you used here. Reminds me that I have to always, always, keep looking and expectantly for Him. Thanks, Tom.
Thank you Julie, we can expect it even though we do not have to be aware. May we listen closer, look deeper and expect more. Blessings and expectations!
Amen Tom! In walking in the Spirit we find, according to the promise in Galatians, that we stop walking in the flesh and gratifying its desires. This is a practice not an occurrence and so daily we must go to prayer and seek Him for it. Daily we must open His Word and see ourselves reflected in it so that we can bring ourselves to the cross again and let the blood of Christ change us even more than before.
Amen Joseph, again and again we bring ourselves to Him and more and more we can live in the Spirit over the flesh. I pray too to turn from the flesh more and more and continue to live in His Spirit. Blessings and living!
Amen!
Tom. today’s post is a blessing and a good reminder to me. Thank you so much!
Thank you Meg! Your confirmation and continued presence is a blessing to me. God uses each of us to spur each other on even when we remain unaware. Your comment was timely and a blessings. We can trust the Spirit.
I want to live in the Spirit all the time too, Tom. Staying thankful and praising Him helps me stay there. Thank you and God bless!
Thank you Deb, that is my experience too. The more I praise Him and approach Him with a thankful heart I find His Spirit and pray with you that we live there. Blessings my sister as we live more and more in The Spirit of God.
