Today’s Scripture: If you then, who are evil, know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will the heavenly Father give the Holy Spirit to those who ask him!” Luke 11:13 ESV
Oh how do I live with God? When the disciples asked Jesus earlier in Luke 11 how to pray, He told them. This morning as I used His model I longed to live right there. Why do I too often, feel intimate with God in prayer and seeking His affirmation only to disconnect for the balance of the day?
I was reminded by God’s Spirit that I can live with God; fully connected just as I am in prayer. Jesus showed us the way and promised us the Helper when He went to sit at God’s right hand.
I really wish I could detail how God works but this palette does not allow for the full spectrum. I left my knees to go to the words He has given me and the next thanksgiving I came to was confirming His promise of the Help we need.
Have you asked for the Holy Spirit?
Today’s Prayer: O Heavenly Father how I do praise Your name. LORD thank You for sending Your Son to show us the way. LORD thank You for answering our calls and teaching us to pray. Father, I ask You to give me Your Holy Spirit’s help to dwell with You always. In Jesus’ name I do pray to You and ask. Amen

Hi Tom, you returned just in the nick of time–I could use your prayers, which have always been so strong and buoyed me up. Since December, things have been quite unstable within me–feel like I’m swimming in fog. My neighbor Tim passed away, which was a terrible blow–though I’m grateful he is now safe in the arms of Jesus (he suffered from schizophrenia, and I know he was a Believer). Your post goes along with Joseph Prince’s message on prayer today–maybe I’m not “praying right”, I don’t know, I’m exhausted and have returned to that place where I just despise myself, want to be anyone but me….such a drama queen, I know. Sis I love you, really! How is it that I do not really know you but my spirit is drawn to you? I just know the LORD of Lords and King of Kings loves you and me more than we can understand and He knows when we are hurting. He has brought us together for such times as these, I am sure of that! I am truly sorry for your loss of Tim and I know these long winter months can be dreary and foggy.
The past few days the LORD is striking me with the importance of asking; ask how to pray, ask for the Holy Spirit, etc. So I am going to ask Him to love you BIG right now in your depths. I don’t know about praying right but we can pray to the ONLY righteous one now… LORD God of Heaven, we come to praise Your name and Your Glory. LORD, You know our depths and You well know the seasons in our lives. LORD, I lift my sis Caddo up to You today, You know her season, her hurts and Her needs. LORD God, I know You are the source of our daily bread and I am asking You to give sis what You know she needs today. LORD, please shine your loving rays of hope into the fog of our darkest places. LORD, continue to heal our broken hearts with recollections of thanksgivings. LORD, please breath the help and the love of the Holy Spirit into all of those places where we may be unaware. LORD, I ask You today to clothe sis and me in Jesus. May Your Holy Spirit teach us the meaning and allow us to feel your protection and comfort. In the loving and mighty name of Jesus Christ I pray with and for my sis today. Amen

Thank you Deb, we are gathered together to lift up our sis. As promised He is here with us. May He fill us with His hope and assurance. Lord, we cry out to You and know You hear us. Use where we are to take us to where You want us to be. In our darkest places we find Your light. Shine brightly LORD as our souls and our eyes look to You.
Thank you so much Tom–you are a wonderful brother, surely hand-picked by our Lord. I can tell you that the positive note for which I’m very grateful, is that God has given me an unusual Calm in the midst of this uncomfortable time–quite remarkable, as I’m typically “tightly wound”. So He brings me through each day, and that is what I thank Him for each night. Having been through periods of depression without hope–I have the benefit of Great Hope now, and I’m praying God will show me what He wants me to see and know. The “trick” is to not fall into believing satan’s lies… Thanks again for your prayers, strength and love–and remember, you are also in my daily prayers as well.
Sis, I am so thankful for His hope and for You feeling it! Great to know that when we stumble and fall His hand is reaching down to us. LORD we take Your hand and look to the brightness of Your light. In your light we find hope and perseverance. We trust in your great love for us and seek to find the good in all things as we know we are called according to Your great purposes. These days are used for Your glory and we ask You to send us all the help and liberators we need. In You we trust and hope. BIG
