Today’s Affirmation: The Lord knows how to deliver me from my temptations.
Can you see a way out? Can you turn away from those things that hold you captive? There is good news for us in 2 Peter 9: So you see, the Lord knows how to rescue godly people from their trials, even while keeping the wicked under punishment until the day of final judgment. (NLT)
In the very first step in Celebrating Recovery as we face off with the effects of denial, we must learn to calm our minds and trust that God knows what we do not yet know. We can become confused with how to proceed. Our minds race into clouds of anxiety and fears. Our bodies continue to adjust to a new way. But where do we turn to run from our temptations?
Simple, but oh so hard we need to turn to the Lord. He does know how to rescue us. We can not trust our flesh and our current understanding. Our flesh and will keep us bound. 2 Peter is harsh in reality. Our very nature is to walk in the lusts of our flesh. We are easily tempted and we all too often return to those things that hold us captive.
Good News. God does know.
He knows our flesh, He knows our battles, He knows…
We must trust the Lord for our flesh is weak and our lusts are strong. We are easily lured back into a wicked world of living if we do not look to the Lord. That’s the bad news, but we already know and have witnessed that.
God knows. Thank you God. I get so confused and drawn by those things that hold me captive. I have to trust that You know the way out. Hold me tight; help me to keep my eyes, my focus on You.
1. Have you ever been to where you are lost in fear and clouds of confusion?
2. Can you just stop and pray and not move until you have given these fears to God? Stay there and find comfort in the Lord. Stay with Him as He is the only way to keep us from returning to the mess we are leaving behind.
God knows the way. Follow Him.

Christians Affirmations 4 Life
So good! I’ve missed keeping up with my daily affirmations and this one reminds me how encouraging they can be…
I think sometimes that I live in a state of confusion and fear Tom. So often I dismiss the idea of giving my fears to The Father, thinking He expects me to deal with them. I’m going to discipline myself to open my heart and hands and give them to The One who’s able to deliver me from the storms…
Happy Sunday~
Thanks Robin, have missed you missing them too, ha! 3:18 a.m., really?
