Today’s Scripture: Everyone should look out not only for his own interests, but also for the interests of others. Philippians 2:4 Holman
A greater love is found when we look to the things others are dealing with. We rob ourselves by trying to take care of ourselves. When we take care to look for the interests and needs of others we find purpose.
We spend time looking for our purpose and the reality is that when we look to the needs of others we find purpose. What are the interests of those around you, have you looked?
I am guilty of consuming my prayers. Paul’s compassion for others even though he knew not of his fate from that prison cell teaches us to look to the interests of others with all the time we have left. Do we truly care if others find the grace and peace we have found?
We have not received these things for consumption but rather to give them to others. Can you see someone who needs what you have today?
Today’s Prayers: Father God, I pray in the name of Jesus Christ to give to others what You have given me. Thank You Father for Your love and Your gifts. Open my eyes and my spirit to see and give to the needs and interests of others. Forgive me for my selfishness. Please draw my eyes to others and help me to see them through Your eyes. Amen
