Today’s Scripture: Titus 3:5-6, NKJV- “not by works of righteousness which we have done, but according to His mercy He saved us, through the washing of regeneration and renewing of the Holy Spirit, whom He poured out on us abundantly through Jesus Christ our Savior,”
We can chase after godliness through the Holy Spirit who is poured out on us abundantly through Jesus Christ our Savior. Our natural tendencies of the flesh must be washed and renewed constantly through the Holy Spirit.
To be who God desires, we need the Holy Spirit to regenerate us. God’s Word constantly reminds us of the actions we are to take. Our actions should prove we know God. We can learn from and follow the actions of Jesus Christ. We are empowered by His grace and Holy Spirit.
In them we have hope of eternal life and daily discipline. Our first step in self-control is to grant control to the Spirit of God. We must be devoted to doing what is good and profitable for everyone. We can avoid foolish arguments about the law because they are unprofitable and useless as stated in Titus 3:9.
We do know what good looks and feels like. Even non-believers know goodness. We just need to show the goodness of Christ. We need the Holy Spirit to do this consistently. Our actions prove God to others. We plant seeds of goodness in our daily lives and activities.
We must devote ourselves to doing what is good. Daily reading of God’s Word and intimacy with His Holy Spirit are our only hopes to continue to chase after godliness. We are equipped with the grace of Jesus Christ and the constant washing, regeneration, and renewing of the Holy Spirit.
Where will you seek guidance today?
Today’s Prayer: Almighty Father in heaven, thank You for sending Jesus Christ to save us. Thank You for Your Holy Spirit who renews us daily. Thank You for Your Word that instructs, corrects, and fills us with hope. You LORD are our Savior, and we seek Your control and discipline in our lives so that we share Your goodness with all others. Please wash me in Your goodness and use me today. Amen.
