Today’s Scripture: Jeremiah said, “The word of the LORD came to me: Jeremiah 32:6 ESV
I did not go looking for this. The word of the LORD came to me.
We do not have to “search” for the LORD for thankfully He comes to us. We only need to be receptive. Although I was searching for the right affirmation for today the message the LORD intended was clear. His word, the right word, comes to us.
I began this morning in Ezekiel 7; reading verse 1 it said “the word of the Lord came to me”. So I wanted to look back and see what was happened before yet behold in Ezekiel 6:1 it states “the word of the Lord came to me”. Not sensing peace I moved on to Jeremiah 32. As I read this chapter here at verse 6 I realized this must be God’s message to me and you today. His word comes to us.
What will you do with the word the LORD is giving you today?
Today’s Prayer: Almighty LORD, thank You for giving me Your word. Forgive me when I miss Your word in my searching. LORD prepare my heart and open my spirit to the message You intend for me to share with others. I know You are God and I know Your word comes to me. Help me to be faithful. Amen

Christian Affirmations 4 Life
And when the Word comes, may it be said of US, “…But blessed are your eyes because they see, and your ears because they hear.” Matthew 13:16 – And then, DOING!!! “Don’t fool yourself into thinking that you are a listener when you are anything but, letting the Word go in one ear and out the other. Act on what you hear! Those who hear and don’t act are like those who glance in the mirror, walk away, and two minutes later have no idea who they are, what they look like. But whoever catches a glimpse of the revealed counsel of God—the free life!—even out of the corner of his eye, and sticks with it, is no distracted scatterbrain but a man or woman of action. That person will find delight and affirmation in the action.” James 1:22-25 MSG Praise be to Jesus the LIVING WORD! Blessings upon you, yours, and all who read the affirmations the Lord brings to you Tom! Cindy
Thank you Cindy for reminding us to act on the word that we receive! LORD I will do as You tell me in Your word. Help me to be obedient and faithful. There are certainly some affirmations here:
I act on what I hear.
I stick with the revelation of God.
I am a man (or woman) of action.
I find delight and affirmation in the action.
Blessings and prayers!
I am so grateful that He comes and finds me 🙂
Amen Heidi! So grateful!! He has come to dwell in us and His counselor teaches us! Blessings and receiving!
I love every bit of this, brother Tom–thank you for being His messenger of Good News. God bless you BIG–love, sis Caddo (struggling)
Thank you Sis! To God be the Glory and I am so thankful He sends us His word. LORD God, I lift my sister to You now. LORD, You know the struggles sis is facing and I know You love her BIG. There is no BIGGER love than Yours. Father bathe sis with your comfort and peace, may Your Holy Spirit fill her with Your power. Please place Your healing hands upon her and embrace her with Your loving arms. Hear our prayer O LORD and send her Your word and Your love in abundance. In the name of our risen savior Jesus Christ I pray with all of the love You Yourself have placed in my heart. Amen
Thank you, dear Tom–your prayer has me all weepy with gratitude, and hope that His joy cometh in the morning. Bless you always.
LORD, You promise that joy comes in the morning. I am praying to You, the great and powerful LORD Almighty to help my beloved sis know Your joy and Your love this morning. You are the Spirit of Joy and I ask You to reside in sis and help her experience Your joy today. Amen
Thank you BIG, brother Tom. As I said to your other reader, Cindy–your blog is a nice safe place to whisper a prayer request. I feel so embraced by our Big compassionate God this morning–He knows our frailty, and our needs so intimately, and He is quick to send just the words and voices to bless and refresh us. Thank you again, Tom–Praise His Wonderful Name and Glory Forever.
Sis, how can a whisper shake the rafters? How can a whisper from us release the shouts of heaven. How can an honest cry be covered with the warmest and most securing of embraces. THANK YOU, for your honesty. In Celebrate Recovery we often say honesty is the beginning of healing. Well your honesty here has freed us to experience God. To catch a glimpse of His reach and to know He is our God who loves us and comes to us in great and mighty ways. Refreshed in the Spirit of God is a mighty rushing wind…released by a little whisper. Sis, I am praying you experience the joy You have given me and the BIG joy only He can give. Blessings and joy!
I have to tell you this has been a day of Bonanza Blessings from HIM, Tom. I was in wretched physical pain, plus spiraling depression yesterday–and I’m not saying this as a “poor me”, because truly it just annoys me to the max when I am out of commission! I don’t have time for such “nonsense”. But that’s what was goin’ on, and I needed Big prayers–and man oh man, after God finally got me to sleep around 5:30 am, HE was hard at work behind the scenes. When I got up around 11:30 and made it out to the computer–the blessings were EVERYWHERE, including from non-believers!! But wait, there’s MORE! So the day was improving by leaps and bounds–and soon it was time for “church” on TV with Pastor Joseph Prince. This is not the first time it’s happened, but it’s always BIG when he prays for the congregation–and God sends a specific word just for ME. I couldn’t even believe it, Tom–I about fell off my couch with amazement, thanking and praising God. For HE truly sees and hears our needs–especially the ones we don’t really want to share with folks–as it might frighten or burden them too much. All I know is HE is BIGGER than our Biggest struggles–and HE’s never put off by them, or impatient that we’re back in the same struggle again. (This is not an issue of sin or rebellion, but clearly an enemy attack–a mental health issue, just so you know a little bit. And having shared this much, I’ll be less afraid to just give you a holler next time I’m “goin’ under”.) So yes sir, I’m back in His JOY, ever amazed at His goodness and compassion for us, His beloved royal children. God bless you with a wonderful evening–see y’all tomorrow!
Sis, I need some of your gift of words tonight…as I am painfully inadequate to express the wonderment I feel I have experienced today. How ironic that I have traveled to visit one who appears to be dying only to be filled with the hope and anticipation of a much greater life. We are flesh and will continue to have the frailties of this flesh. The weakness of our minds and bodies will continue to be attacked yet we have experienced how our greatest pains are a way to God. That our hardships are pathways to peace. That although we may suffer today the promise and joy in the knowledge of a greater life sustains us. Today proves we do not have to wait for “that” day. God is with us here now. His Kingdom is here. His love is here with us as we have witnessed today. I pray our thorns are taken from us but if they are not that they are the very seeds of God to allow us to witness Him and His Glory. BIG wonder.
BIG wonder, for sure–witnessing Him and His glory really puts me on my knees.
Humbling for sure Sis!
Dear Sis–in my times of struggling it has always comforted me to know that there were people lifting me up in prayer. In that same spirit of love I am praying for you now and will throughout my day. Our struggles may be different but our God is the same…One of my favorite verses from the Word comes from Psalm 34:18 … It says, “The Lord is close to the brokenhearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit.” Yes in those moments He is especially close to us and saves us! You are in my heart and prayers, Cindy
Oh, what a lovely, lovely blessing this morning! Thank you, Sis Cindy–for your kind thoughts, prayers and the Psalm. It’s always hard for me to ditch my pride and admit I’m struggling–I like my reputation for being a “happy skippy” encourager, a true Overcomer! But Tom’s blog is a safe place to sneak in a parenthetical nudge for his prayers–he’s a wonderful blog brother, and apparently his other readers are just as sensitive, loving and full of grace. I am thanking and praising our BIG God today–for His blessings of compassion are a balm overflowing. I will add your name to my daily prayer list, as well, Sis–it’s an honor to know and pray for you. God bless you BIG!
The Spirit within me leaps and my eyes fill with tears of joy to know this has become a safe place for us. You are safe and you are loved here sis. You have made this a momentous day in the life of affirmations of God. A place I could not have dreamed of. I can not control the gratitude and praise for you and this moment. LORD God I praise You and thank You for this safe place where You are glorified and lifted up. It is here LORD in Your presence we find grace, hope and love…and the greatest of these is love. BIG honor to see my sisters in Christ pray for each other here. I could not have thought or imagined of a better place.
Such a celebration of HIS BIG LOVE–truly your blog is a work of God, Tom; and please know that I mean every word from my heart–no false flattery ever, from this gal!
Thank you Cindy for praying for our sis. What a blessing to end a day of travelling to visit my father in law who had a stroke back in June and has continued to weaken to log in and witness the love of God and our shared Spirit. You two ladies are very special and I am moved and grateful that this place has been a place to witness God in action. Thank you for following the Spirit! I know there is joy found in your joining together. Thanksgivings!
I’m glad it blessed you Sis…my mind tried to reason me out of it… You know, “Sis was writing to Tom…you are butting in…”But I am learning to trust Holy Spirit! I had the opportunity to volunteer at my church today and prayed for you often while filling the seat backs with welcome cards etc. I would be honored to be on your prayer list; believe me when I tell you I can use all the prayer I can get! We are the church! Ecclesiastes 4:9,10: “Two are better than one; because they have a good reward for their labour. For if they fall, the one will lift up his fellow: but woe to him that is alone when he falleth; for he hath not another to help him up. I look forward to visiting your blog! BIG blessings, Cindy
Oh Cindy, your words are so true, that we need one another’s prayers and encouragement! And trust me, I know what you mean about thinking you might be “butting in”–we know whose voice that is–the red dude!! So, pardon my cluelessness, but do you have a blog?? I didn’t see a link…let me know!
This is awesome! I was just thinking today about how the Father WANTS to speak to us! Sometimes, He just speaks to us because He wants to tell us what He is thinking and what is on His mind. 🙂 I love it when He does that, because it’s so enjoyable!
Morgan, thank you for for confirming and speaking here. YES, I LOVE this too. It brings a joy that is incomparable. Blessings and joy!
