Today’s Scripture: Cornelius stared at him in terror. “What is it, sir?” he asked the angel. And the angel replied, “Your prayers and gifts to the poor have been received by God as an offering! Acts 10:4 NLT
Most translations of Acts 10:4 state that Cornelius’s prayers and alms were a memorial to God.
Do we get so caught up in what we want and need that we forget the purpose of prayer? As we pray continuously as we are called to do can we remember to make our prayers an offering to God?
LORD, we offer our prayers to You in memorial of who You are. We lift up what we know about You and You in turn teach us. As we offer our prayers to You, Your Spirit speaks to us and we are reminded of those we need to lift in prayer and those we are to minister to. Your Word teaches us to pray, continuously.
As we offer our prayers to You, Your Spirit speaks. As we fear and honor You, You provide direction. As we act on Your prayers we change lives.
Are your prayers an offering to God?
Today’s Prayer: Almighty God, Heavenly Father, I lift my prayers as an offering to You. Thank You for hearing my prayers. Thank You for Your Holy Spirit who speaks and guides us in prayer and life. I praise You LORD for who You are and trust You will use who I am. Thank You for remembering our prayers. Amen
