Today’s Scripture: Remove far from me vanity and lies; give me neither poverty nor riches; feed me with the bread of my daily need: Proverbs 30:8(Darby Bible Translation)
I know nothing. This statement spoke loudly to me this morning from Matthew Henry’s commentary of Proverbs 30. How little we know. The humbleness and reliance on God is all we need.
He is God and we are not. We are weak vessels and can in one instance speak for God and in the next moment blaspheme Him in our weaknesses. Like Agur who scripted this chapter, we can grow weary of trying to make sense of it all. It is great news here in verse eight, be content and trust that God, in His majesty, gives us the daily bread we need.
Today, like every day, God knows what is needed. Are we willing to receive His bread today?
LORD, I come before You to receive Your bread and not to bring You what I know. Thank You for Your provision.
Are you receiving what God is feeding you today?
Today’s Prayer: Heavenly Father, thank You for Your daily bread. Thank you for giving what is needed. Help me to act faithfully and intently on Your will and not my own. Forgive me for my weaknesses and my sins. I am thankful for Your grace and Your strength. You Father know my needs and I welcome Your bread today. Open my eyes to whom I am to share my bread. Amen.
