Today’s Scripture: Everyone should look out not only for his own interests, but also for the interests of others. Philippians 2:4 Holman
A greater love is found when we look to the things others are dealing with. We rob ourselves by trying to take care of ourselves. When we take care to look for the interests and needs of others we find purpose.
We spend time looking for our purpose and the reality is that when we look to the needs of others we find purpose. What are the interests of those around you, have you looked?
I am guilty of consuming my prayers. Paul’s compassion for others even though he knew not of his fate from that prison cell teaches us to look to the interests of others with all the time we have left. Do we truly care if others find the grace and peace we have found?
We have not received these things for consumption but rather to give them to others. Can you see someone who needs what you have today?
Today’s Prayers: Father God, I pray in the name of Jesus Christ to give to others what You have given me. Thank You Father for Your love and Your gifts. Open my eyes and my spirit to see and to give to the needs and interests of others. Forgive me for my selfishness. Please draw my eyes to others and help me to see them through Your eyes. Amen

OHHHhhhhhhh….I confess…I have kept my eyes on me and my situation way too much today…”Forgive me for my selfishness.” Amen. It’s always better when I take my eyes off me and look to the interests of others…always. Thanks for the great Word, reflection and prayer.
As I was finishing, Brandon Heath’s song, “Give Me Your Eyes” came to me. It really does speak to today’s affirmation! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=P5AkNqLuVgY
God’s choicest blessings on you and yours Tom,
Cindy
I am with you Cindy. I believe God was waking me up to this fact too! Thanks for your musical accompaniment. As I listed I thought, oh this is one of my favorites. Listening closely to the words I realize I don’t listen closely enough:) Open our eyes LORD. Blessings and His sight.
Tom, you have such a knack of caring out tiny yet giant Truths. Amazing! Thank you.
Thank you Julie, God’s voice and His Spirit are very revealing and faithful to provide us with His truths. Blessings and looking.
Thank you for another beautiful affirmation, Tom. One of the first things He told me to do as a new believer, was to think of others. I was so self conscious , low self esteem, etc. etc. and this was the perfect key! Don’t think about me so much! Haha! He is so good! God bless you and all those you look to!
Thanks Deb, I too lost myself in self. Amazing how when we look to Him in others or through His eyes to others we find our true selves. Blessings and looking.
