Today’s Scripture: “Let’s go to the neighboring town,” he replied, “so I can preach there, too, because that’s why I came.”
What are the purposes of your prayers? Do you hope to direct God in someway to do what you desire or do you go to be directed by God?
Jesus showed us the way to find direction and purpose. In Mark 1:35 Very early in the morning, while it was still dark, Jesus got up, left the house and went off to a solitary place, where he prayed.
This particular morning where Jesus went out He obviously was given direction from the Almighty. Though everyone was looking for Him He immediately said let’s go and do what I came to do. He was not distracted by the calls of this world yet He knew what He must do. His prayers kept Him directed on God’s purpose.
Do we seek direction and purpose? Very early in the morning, while it is still dark, go and be alone with God and He will reveal it. Let’s go.
Today’s Prayer: Our Father who art in Heaven, hallowed by thy name. Your kingdom come Your will be done on earth as it is in Heaven. Give us this day our daily bread and forgive us our trespasses as we forgive those who trespass against us. Lead us not into temptation but deliver us from evil for Thine is the Kingdom, the power and the glory. Amen

Thanks, Tom for we all need reminders to stay the course. Lord, I pray the distractions of the world will not impede on my time with You. May my prayer life keep me directed on Your purpose and not mine. Amen!
