Today’s Scripture: “I am a God who is near. I am also a God who is far away,” declares the LORD. Jeremiah 23:23 GWT
Am I a God at hand, says the LORD, and not a God afar off? The LORD asked this question through Jeremiah and this is a verse that comes back to me over and over again. Do we understand the scope of our God?
Do we allow those who continually try to take God out of every day activities affect this truth in us? God is right where we are today. Not only is He right here with us yet He is the Almighty God of Heaven who created all things. Like these days of Jeremiah we must accept God’s truths over what man professes.
What a wonderful mystery to have the closeness of God while trusting in His omniscience and His omnipotence. God is intimately involved with all we think and do and yet He is God over all.
Although I can not comprehend the majesty of God I choose to trust Him and His Word over my limited sight and that of those who try to define God’s place. Although I am embarrassed that God is so near as to witness all of my thoughts and deeds yet I find power in knowing His truth will prevail.
Do you relate to God and the near and far?
Today’s Prayer: Heavenly Father, thank You for being near and far. Thank You for asking this question of us to remind us where and who You are. LORD of Heaven who dwells in my heart I love You and trust You over myself and others. LORD direct me today both near and far. Amen.

Hi Tom, I’ve been thinking alot about how God is always here no matter what is going on in my life. When I get frazzled I have to remind myself that I’m not alone and that He is right here with me, even if I don’t “feel” it. If we were able to “feel” His prescense all the time, do you think there would be as much worry and anxiety in this world? Hmmm….just a thought. 🙂 Things have been okay on my end. I’ve been having alot of interviews and now it’s come for me to pick and choose which jobs I want. It’s all or nothing on ALL realms of my life. Definitley a pattern. haha You see, I can’t learn moderation even if I try! 🙂 Hope all is well with you and your family. Many blessings to you my friend!

Great to hear from you Michele! Thankful God is near to you and also far at the same time directing your path. I pray in His nearness He guides you to the new job that He has intended for you. He is the only thing we don’t need in moderation! Praying he teaches both of us that fullness in Him will moderate all others…hmmmm. Thanks for allowing me to walk along with you and learn lessons with you. I know God has your heart and your future! Blessings my friend! Keep me posted on your miracles…

Powerful affirmation!! Thank you, Tom!
My Lord, my God, in awe I am that You are near me and also far;
How amazed I am by this Paradox, by this Truth of Who You are.
The Alpha and Omega, the Eternal I AM, the Almighty, the Creator of all,
Bid that I experience forever Your Presence and heed always Your call.
May God continue to bless you and your ministry! You are a Blessing, dear Brother!

Trying to understand an Infinite God with a finite mind is impossible. We will never understand ALL of God, but we can press towards the mark of perfecting our faith in him. “Just as you cannot understand the path of the wind or the mystery of a tiny baby growing in its mother’s womb, so you cannot understand the activity of God, who does all things.” Ecclesiastes 11:5 We must just accept what we do understand and Trust him! Great verse Tom!
