Today’s Scripture: “But when the Helper comes, whom I will send to you from the Father, the Spirit of truth, who proceeds from the Father, he will bear witness about me. John 15:26 ESV
I was reminded once again in the early morning darkness of the gift of the Spirit from our Heavenly Father. Imagining Jesus on His knees before the Father in the coolness of the morning air with the chorus of nature in the background, I was there to receive what God gave Jesus.
I was not there to settle my thoughts in the quietness I was there to receive what the Father gives. I had to quiet my mind and trust in the receiving; trusting that God Himself was writing His will upon my heart, my mind and my Spirit.
In the way only our Heavenly Father can do I came across this scripture this morning after this time with Him. His Word confirms that the Spirit of truth proceeds FROM the Father and not from what I lift to Him.
Jesus went out to receive this Spirit, shouldn’t we?
Today’s Prayer: Heavenly Father, thank You for the example of Jesus. Thank You for sending us the Spirit of truth. Write upon my heart the word You want me to share. I praise You Father for the word You have given me and I ask Your blessings on giving this word to others. Amen

Tom this immediately reminded me of the verse in the previous chapter of John 14 verse 17 “He is the Holy Spirit, who leads into all truth. The world cannot receive him, because it isn’t looking for him and doesn’t recognize him. But you know him, because he lives with you now and later will be in you. ”
Indeed, we should receive His Spirit, it is a part of our commitment to our Father! His Spirit separates us from the world, we are set apart by the truth which resides in us.

Amen Kimberly, thank you for sharing this scripture. I am so thankful that as we continue to look for Him we do begin to recognize Him. He lives in us now and we welcome Him. Blessings and looking!
