Today’s Scripture: And David was greatly distressed, for the people spoke of stoning him, because all the people were bitter in soul, each for his sons and daughters. But David strengthened himself in the LORD his God. 1 Samuel 30:6 ESV
Confidence and boldness comes in the strength of the LORD. How do we strengthen ourselves in the LORD? David witnessed for us over and over that he inquired of the LORD before taking action. By asking God where and if he should go he found strength in knowing God’s will.
You and I can also be strengthened in the LORD by knowing His will. We are strengthened by His commands that we have already received from Him. We know His general will from the testaments that have been passed along to us. We are to treasure these commands.
Personal knowledge is also flowing to us when we are inquiring and communing with God Himself. He is directing us. He is answering our inquiries. When we know Him we come to know His specific will for us. We are strengthened to go.
Are you getting your strength from the LORD?
Today’s Prayer: LORD God, You are my strength. I praise You and thank You for Your servants and Your Word that prepare me. I receive Your Words, treasure Your commands and learn from Your people. You are showing me Your way and I thank you for answering my inquiries. Amen

I have no other place to get it. To “find” it elsewhere leads to failure.
