Today’s Scripture: But he turned and said to Peter, “Get behind me, Satan! You are a hindrance to me. For you are not setting your mind on the things of God, but on the things of man.” Matthew 16:23 ESV
Bouncing back and forth between Matthew 16 and Luke 9 this morning I witness how our minds can be worlds apart in an instant.
When we look to ourselves or look to others we lose contact with God. A “living God” we are told. A God who is alive wants our minds set on Him. When we deny our minds and follow Jesus we find life.
Matthew 16:25 assures us that when we give up our lives we find it. Our minds can not comprehend this but our soul knows when we are there. I can not trust my mind yet I can give it to God and set it there. When we give our minds to God we receive our soul.
When we live from our soul we are who we are to be and we do what we are to do; we find life.
Where will you set your mind today?
Today’s Prayer: Lord God, I give you my mind. Help me to deny myself and follow after You. Reveal to my soul the cross I am to carry. Help me to proclaim Your glory and Your life. Help me to set my mind on You and live by faith in what Jesus reveals to me. Amen

It seems the Spirit is speaking to several of us today about releasing our lives and control into Hos hands. It makes me wonder what lies before us. Thanks for this confirmation Tom.
Thank you Joseph…we will be prepared for that day and will have done what He wanted us to do. If we release and live for Him today. LORD, help us prepare our minds and this world for Your glory by proclaiming You and living with You. Thank You for allowing us to taste heaven today.
Amen!
Love how you said “our soul knows when we are there.” And I’d somehow missed that second part of Matthew 16:23…not sure how! Thanks, Tom
Thank you Julie, so thankful for the peace and work of the Holy Spirit! Blessings in God’s goodness!
