Today’s Scripture: And walk in love, as Christ loved us and gave himself up for us, a fragrant offering and sacrifice to God. Ephesians 5:2 ESV
As my heart expressed gratitude and praise this morning I realized that I can only see God if I get myself out of the way.
So contrary to our nature is the truth that as we give ourselves up we see God and His wonders. My mind and my spirit peered across the landscape of the myriads of hurts, habits and hang-ups that I and others face and I see a common theme. The victories I see are also found here.
I am “here” either because I did or did not give myself up. Sure, when I focus on myself I can achieve sprints of victory. However, when I look at true victories in love, purpose and glory I see God.
We are to be imitators of God. He gave Himself up in the person of Jesus Christ and it is in this imitation of His example that we can walk in love and victory.
Are you willing to give yourself up?
Today’s Prayer: Abba Father, I praise Your name. I thank You for the life, death and resurrection of Jesus Christ. Thank You for Your Holy Spirit who draws the eyes of my heart to Your light and Your glory. Only in Your Spirit can I give myself up. I see Your wonders in giving myself up and I seek Your Spirit to imitate You and Jesus. Amen

Amen Deb, that is my prayer too. LORD, Your kingdom come, Your will be done! Please give us Your daily bread to strengthen us to give ourselves up and follow the Way of Jesus.
