Today’s Scripture: When Jesus had received the sour wine, he said, “It is finished,” and he bowed his head and gave up his spirit. John 19:30 ESV
It is finished. No more struggles and beatings from this world. I follow the example of Jesus and bow my head and give up my spirit.
I give up my spirit to God and believe His Spirit will take it from here. We have a fighting spirit don’t we? Misdirected at times but we fight nonetheless. When we finally give it up we come to know God and His Spirit.
Jesus’ life and His death were examples for us. If He gave up His spirit shouldn’t we? It is finished. When we no longer live for this world and for ourselves we find the Spirit that is a gift from God. This Spirit prays for us when we can not. This Spirit guides us when we do not know the way. It is here in this place we come to know and serve God.
Have you given up your spirit?
Today’s Prayer: Father God, thank You for the life and death of Jesus. I believe and know Jesus is telling the truth. I give You my spirit LORD and trust You to fill me and to guide me. Your Spirit fills me with joy, peace and reassurance of intimacy with You. I trust the communion of Your Spirit with You and trust Your direction. Amen

Giving up is so hard for me…but it boils down to trust, like you prayed in your prayer today. Do I trust Him…?
