Today’s Scripture: For just as the body without the spirit is dead, so also faith without works is dead. James 2:26 NASB
We are alive by the spirit that pumps our hearts and fills our lungs and we are also alive by the Spirit of God.
Do we really understand what we are told in James 4:5: “Do you think this passage means nothing? It says, “The Spirit that lives in us wants us to be his own.” (God’s Word Translation)
James warns us of our own ego throughout James and the death it brings. But he also promises that we will be alive if we live in the Spirit that God has placed within each of us. Will we live today in His Spirit and not in the realm of our minds?
It is a constant battle within us yet we are promised life as we live in the Spirit of God.
Do you recognize the difference between the Spirit of God and your ego?
Today’s Prayer: Father God, thank You for our very breath and thank You for the Spirit You have placed in each of us. Help me LORD to live in Your Spirit. Help me to know Your Spirit and resist the temptation of my flesh. I want to live in Your Spirit and trust You in all that I do today and every day. I welcome the Spirit within me to guide me to Your works. Amen
