Today’s Scripture: Then Jesus, calling out with a loud voice, said, “Father, into your hands I commit my spirit!” And having said this he breathed his last. Luke 23:46 ESV
At some point we have to “give up the ghost” don’t we? Searching to see what this phrase even meant I found that it means to die, to stop working.
Like Jesus, I am calling this out today, Father, into your hands I commit my spirit. If that is physical death that is ok; more so I feel this is giving up the will of my flesh. I offer up my fleshly spirit into the hands of the Father. I want to hand over my will and my efforts and live in His Spirit, His Holy Ghost.
I am that criminal hanging next to Jesus on the cross asking Him to remember me in His kingdom and just as this criminal I am with Jesus in paradise today. The Holy Ghost allows us to live in the Kingdom of God today.
Are you ready to give up the ghost?
Today’s Prayer: Father, into Your hands I commit my spirit. LORD, remember me from Your kingdom. Help me to give up my sinful will and to do Your will. LORD, I need Your will to replace my will. Help me to know the fullness of Your Spirit and Your will and to live there. Amen
