Today’s Scripture: Psalm 1:2 ESV- buthis delight is in the law of the LORD,
and on his law he meditates day and night.
Our rebellious hearts make us naturally dislike laws I believe. Somehow we think that laws inconvenience us or restrain us from what we want.
Every day we witness lawbreakers. Whether it is traffic, social or spiritual we see it in ourselves and others. But this first chapter of Psalms begins with blessed is the man who does not do as they see around them. We want to be blessed don’t we?
Like a mighty tree will we grow by streams of water to yield our fruits in our seasons. This promise is fulfilled to our delight and to the delight of our LORD all because of our delight in His law. When we embrace and keep His laws close we are told that all we do will prosper. Isn’t it odd we most often leave God behind to chase prosperity while if we would just delight in His law we would receive prosperity?
Will you delight in the law of the LORD today?
Today’s Prayer: Father God, I delight in You and Your law. Help me to keep my eyes and my heart upon you. Help me to plant my roots deeply into your rich soil so that I receive Your living waters. Help me LORD God to grow to yield the fruits You delight in in my season. You are my delight dear LORD. Amen
