Today’s Affirmation: The Lord has given me an undivided heart and has put His Spirit within me.
God spoke to Ezekiel in a vision and in Ezekiel 11:19 He said “I will give them and undivided heart and put a new spirit in them… Yes, the Lord does this for us as well. Some translations say “one” heart, “singleness” of heart; and all are to have a heart for Him. With a focus on God He promises to put a new spirit, His Spirit within each of us.
Today, we speak of focus often. We know if we focus we can accomplish anything. What is it we should focus on? Do we focus on family, career, health, service? Plenty of choices for us to focus and accomplish things, right? We have shown and history of mankind shows that if we focus and have singleness of purpose we can accomplish almost anything.
But, and yes this is a capital BUT, is this a heart for God above our own and all others? I have chased my heart, my desires, my flesh, the world, money, work, the Jones’…you name it. All at the same time, not only was my heart divided but only a small part of my heart was His.
Father God, I thank you for giving me an undivided heart and I am overwhelmingly thankful for the new spirit you have placed in me. Father help me to keep Your one heart, Your single heart. Protect me from me and the temptations of my heart.
Amazingly, with Your one heart and Your Spirit within me You give me all the desires of my heart. What thanksgiving and freedom is found here. Focus and singleness of purpose with You O Lord gives me focus on Your will and Your purpose. Thank you. With singleness of purpose I find peace, passion, rest, security, fulfillment, hope….just as you promised.
1. Do you feel like your heart is one with God or divided? If divided you can just ask Him to give you this heart and spirit.
2. What is your life experience to this point with an undivided heart?
3. If you had to give an honest answer right now, what is your heart focused on? Is it divided?
4. What can you visualize the world would be like if we were all of one heart and one spirit?
May we be undivided and filled with His Spirit today.

Love all your affirmations and blogs. I may not always comment. But I enjoy reading them very much. You are definitely “In the zone”. Thanks for all your thoughts on His word.
Have a Blessed Day.

Hi Tom Raines,
I like your affirmations and blogging too. I think we can speak and say what God says that he has provided for us in Scripture.
My only thought is the ‘positive confession’ movement has distorted this practice and sent believers off in a wrong direction. Trying to speak to get material things for themselves , and a better life. (We do know that God provides a better life maybe not in the way some people understand it).
I know what God says in the Scriptures about Wisdom. He says ask for it. I ask for wisdom from Him. The Bible says if we ask we will receive from Him. I ask for courage, knowledge, and help from God many times. I believe that God has been and is faithful to provide where I am lacking and where I am weak.
God Bless
Thank you Velvet. I really appreciate the encouragement! Kind words like yours help with giving me confidence and confirmation that God is not just doing this for me. Wishing you a blessed day today too!
Linda, you feel exactly like I do about positive affirmations! I once was led astray to follow after selfish things. What conflicted me was I did get what I was asking for. My heart said wow this works but where is God in this?….Years later when I was on my knees God reminded me of how affirmations do work BUT He should be the center and we should claim the things He says we should have. So in my quiet times almost three years ago I began to harvest these affirmations from God as I read through His word. I hope that others who have been led astray but felt the power can begin to see God in this process….If it is God’s will and I believe He has placed this passion on my heart and brought me to this point…Bless you and Yes He is soooo faithful.
my first thing that came to my mind was by MercyMe, I Can Only Imagine at http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0xwzItqYmII.
Patsy, thank you! I LOVE when people add this emotional aspect of music. I can only imagine what that day will be like. I do know your gift of this song brought me to my knees this morning. Bless you!
