Today’s Scripture: Romans 12:2, NKJV- “And do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, that you may prove what is that good and acceptable and perfect will of God.”
It is my experience that every time I give myself to God in prayer and bible reading that He does, in fact, transform and renew my mind and provides confirmation with Spiritual tingles in my spine. Ok, Tom, EVERY time, and tingles? Are you sure?
Yes, I am more certain than ever. I am not sure that “tingles” is the right word, but I do know it is a unique experience that only occurs during God moments. It is also my experience that few people take the time, on a regular basis, to pray alone with God and read His Word seeking transformation and renewal. There are many demands of life that make us think we do not have the time. The truth is that it does not take much time for God to transform us.
Many years ago, I recall rising from my prayers excited that I had just found where the Holy Spirit resided in me. The feelings and reverberations I felt then still occur every time I ask my Heavenly Father’s Kingdom to come and for His will to be done.
Just this morning, as I welcomed God’s kingdom, His Spirit put me on high alert to recognize our Heavenly Father’s will. It became very personal. My mind and spine vibrated in unison. I did my best to silence my thoughts and trust that the Holy Spirit was interceding as we are promised in Romans 8:27. I trusted that the LORD was renewing me and transforming me in these moments from the inside out.
Then, I wondered to myself, how do I stay in this Spiritual intensity and intercession all the time and not just in these moments of prayer? LORD, please reveal what You require of me in my next breath, step, or action and confirm only as Your Spirit can.
I have found that whatever the Spirit makes us recall is the sweet spot of transformation and renewal. As Paul tells us in Romans 12:3, “For I say, through the grace given to me, to everyone who is among you, not to think of himself more highly than he ought to think, but to think soberly, as God has dealt to each one a measure of faith.” (NKJV) With whatever faith we have we must act on what God and His Spirit impress upon us. When we do, we witness transformation in ourselves and others that prove God’s majesty and will.
It is mind-blowing how much transformation and renewal can occur in a matter of seconds when seeking God and reading His Word. When we pray as Jesus taught us and read God’s commands, we do experience Him.
Are we too busy to give God a few seconds? I have found that when we give God one second of prayer, He welcomes us into the prayers of Jesus. When we open the Bible to read just one verse, He brings us to the exact place He desires, and the Spirit confirms what God intends.
We can trust that the Spirit of God meets us in those moments. We must resist the temptations of Satan who robs, steals, and destroys these moments. Just stop and give your heart and attention to God and His Word and you will experience the renewal and transformation of God and maybe even a few tingles.
God proves Himself faithful, will we?
Today’s Prayer: Thank You Heavenly Father for Your love and faithfulness to us. Forgive us Father when we are distracted and too busy with life to live the transformed and renewed life You give to us. Lead us with Your Spirit Father God. Help us to live moment to moment with You. Create a pure heart in us and use us as proof of Your love and power. In the name of Jesus Christ, our Savior. Amen.
