Today’s Scripture: Hebrews 4:16 ESV – Let us then with confidence draw near to the throne of grace, that we may receive mercy and find grace to help in time of need.
Hebrews 4 shows us that God knows exactly who we are and what we need today. The writer of Hebrews goes from Moses to Jesus to reveal our hearts in this one chapter.
God knows our weaknesses and our temptations. His promises for rest and a promised land still stand for us today. Mind boggling but true that the God of Moses knows us intimately. His word we are told in Hebrews 4:12 can separate our spirit and our soul, our bone and our marrow. Inside and out God knows our thoughts and intentions.
Even still He loves us and offers us rest. My confidence is in the love and Spirit of Jesus and not in me. I like those who died in the desert do not have the courage standing alone. But with Jesus I have the confidence and boldness to boldly approach God and find the obedience to enter His rest.
Can you find confidence in Jesus today?
Today’s Prayer: Father God, thank You for offering me Your rest. Today I trust you and give you my heart. Today I find confidence knowing you know every part of me and Jesus makes my way clear to You. I approach Your throne with grace and gratitude and ask You where I should go today. I will go. Amen
