Today’s Scripture: Isaiah 42:5 ESV- Thus says God, the LORD, who created the heavens and stretched them out, who spread out the earth and what comes from it, who gives breath to the people on it and spirit to those who walk in it:
We were created with flesh and spirit. Both operate without our help. We were created to use what we were given. He calls us through our spirit to live with and for Him.
And WHY does He do this? So we can serve Him on earth by opening the eyes of the blind, to bring prisoners out of the dungeon and bring those sitting in darkness into the light. We do this by lifting His Name above all others and giving Him all the glory.
I sing to the LORD a new song and praise Him from one end of the earth to another. We can move away from the tired old song of the flesh and choose the Spirit of God. It is there that we and the other inhabitants of this earth living in darkness learn to live and breathe in the fullness of His glory.
Will you live from the spirit you have been given today?
Today’s Prayer: LORD God, thank You for creating the heavens and the earth and everything that comes from it. Thank You for giving me breath and spirit. Help me to live from Your Spirit and help me to open eyes to Your light and to rescue those prisoners in the dungeons of this world and held prisoner to the darkness of the flesh. Help me to sing and spread Your song. Amen
