Today’s Scripture: Until now you have asked nothing in my name. Ask, and you will receive, that your joy may be full. John 16:24 ESV
God has revealed the fullness of His joy. Jesus shared with His disciples here at the last supper a joy they yet understood. Have we come to know the fullness of His joy?
These chapters in John recounting the last days of Jesus’ time on earth are heavy, full. Rereading the sequence of events we experience a full range of emotions. Bewilderment, comfort, fear, promise, confidence pain and yes joy.
Jesus promised His disciple in John 16:20 that their sorrow would turn to joy. So will ours. Not a light yippee fleshly joy but a deep, full joy filled with the love of Jesus, His Father and the Holy Spirit.
Today I rejoice in the fullness of Jesus’ gift to us. I have peace knowing Jesus overcame the world. I am compelled to glorify God and this gift by accomplishing the work He has given me to do.
Because of Jesus, I know God and my joy is full? Do you know the fullness of God’s joy?
Today’s Prayer: Father God, thank You for Your Son Jesus Christ. Because of His life and His death I have come to know You. You are the one true God who loves me. In Jesus’ name I ask You to use me as You will. My joy is full in You and I want to accomplish the work You have given me. Please guide me with Your Spirit to share Your joy with the world that does not know you. Amen

Thank you, Tom, for reminding me that “I have peace knowing Jesus overcame the world.” Today I am finding it hard to find peace in my job and I need to give it up and have Jesus use me for his work…MY anxiety at work is not from Him.
I’ll keep praying this prayer knowing that in Him, my joy can be full.
Hope your Easter is blessed!
Thank you Katy, work and the ways of this world can be so painfully stressfull and full of anxiety…yet when we turn to Him we find joy and find true purpose and value. I am praying for you now over those things or people causing you anxiety. May God’s peace may God’s joy fill you to be so full the anxiety withers and takes it’s proper place. Love and blessings to you as we celebrate the resurrection of our LORD and savior who makes our lives and our joy full! Blessings!
I like the way you describe the joy…” Not a light yippee fleshly joy but a deep, full joy filled with the love of Jesus, His Father and the Holy Spirit.”
I’m so thankful for that kind of joy today Tom…
