Today’s Scripture: Proverbs 2:2: So that you incline your ear to wisdom, and apply your heart to understanding;
How do you “apply” your heart? Dictionary.com’s definition of apply means “to make use” or “bring into action”.
Do you know how to make use of your heart as you seek understanding? Just as we can “incline” our ear by leaning in and listening intently we can do so with our heart as we seek understanding from God. Just as our ear listens intently for that next recognizable pulse so does our heart when we open it wide open for God.
My heart is wide open LORD and awaiting Your next impression. Can you feel it when you ask God a question and still your heart to await expectantly the next impression He lays there? How many times have you found God to be silent?
Most times? Me too but the amazing application I have found is how the combination and “bringing into action” prayer and bible reading how a new understanding just “pops up” in your consciousness.
When we make our hearts available and apply them God does reveal Himself. We can listen with our hearts and trust we are exactly where He wants us.
How do you apply your heart to understanding?
Today’s Prayer: Heavenly Father, thank You for Your gift of understanding. I trust You Father and welcome Your understanding into my heart. Remind me to seek and praise You in prayer and understanding who You are by remembering what you have done. Thank You for Your Word who reveals You and reveals understanding to us. Apply my heart LORD as I give it to You. I trust Your will be done. Amen

This weekend I am on a prayer retreat. Setting aside large amounts of time to still the rush just helps to clarify His voice. When the hurried pace of life stills my heart tunes itself to the key of God!

Jelillie, I pray your weekend was filling for you. I respect your intentional plan to be still. I pray you will receive the daily bread now and the confidence and boldness to act on what God has laid on your heart. I look forward to seeing the fruit that will be produced from your discipline. I know God is faithful and seeds and desires were placed on your heart. Love your line “my heart tunes itself to the key of God!” Blessings and would love to hear the testimony of your faithfulness. Bless you!
