Today’s Scripture: “Do not give dogs what is holy, and do not throw your pearls before pigs, lest they trample them underfoot and turn to attack you. Matthew 7:6 ESV
I am astonished at God’s words, just as those who heard Jesus’ words here in Matthew 7. You may question how I took this affirmation from this verse. You see, I feel I have been a pig with the pearls God has given me. However, I am astonished and confident that God loves me and encourages me to worship Him with the gifts He has already given me.
God is so good to me; I want to honor His gifts. This warning in verse six is followed by: “Ask and it will be given to you; seek and you will find; knock, and it will be opened to you.” THEN WHAT?
He says EVERYONE who asks receives. What we do with the pearls God gives us leads us to life. A life of the narrow way or the life of the easy way. I want to worship God with the gifts He has given me and produce His fruits.
Are you worshiping God with your gifts?
Today’s Prayer: LORD God, thank You for the gifts You have given me. I am truly grateful and pray that I worship and honor You. Thank You for Your Word. Help me to travel Your way and may my gifts welcome others into the narrow way. Bear Your fruits in me dear LORD and keep me ever mindful of your goodness. Amen
