Today’s Scripture: to receive instruction in wise dealing, in righteousness, justice, and equity; Proverbs 1:3 ESV
There is peace and confidence knowing we WILL receive instruction from the LORD, isn’t there? Here in Proverbs 1 we are told and promised that Wisdom cries aloud to us. She is shouting out all around us, yet we think we do not hear.
How many times have you thought God was silent? I recall one particular time calling out in frustration to God Himself that I did not get why He created me only to remain silent.
Do you think that it was because I skipped the first step? That step in Proverbs 1:7 The fear of the LORD is the beginning of knowledge; fools despise wisdom and instruction. Was it because I did not have the loving respect and total trust in the LORD? Most certainly, somehow I trusted my own thoughts and feelings over total reverence to who the LORD is.
My experience is that fearing Him above all others was the beginning of knowledge and also opened up the flood gates to “hearing” him. It was not that He remained silent; I was listening wrong. You could say I was listening foolishly.
Do you want to hear with confidence? Fear Him. What are you hearing?
Today’s prayer: Almighty LORD, thank You for Your Wisdom and Your ways of speaking to us. You are the Almighty, You are God and You are the source of instruction. I trust Your will; I trust Your guidance and thank You for crying out in so many ways. Thank You for speaking so we can hear. Help us to discern and magnify Your voice over all others. Amen

Just being reminded of the Almighty’s power in your daily message is comforting. I pray that we all slow down long enough to really hear Him. Love you my brother.
Thank you Sheryl! You are a great and supportive “big” sister:) We hear, may we recognize and believe! Blessings!
Jesus said in Mark 4 (Amplified): He who has ears to hear, let him be hearing [and let him [a]consider, and comprehend]. For a while now, I have been praying that God grant us revelation knowledge, wisdom, counsel, understanding, and fear of the Lord. Now I pray, too, grant us, Lord, continually, open ears to hear what it is You want to reveal to us, the gifts you want to give us to do YOUR work and give You glory. Tom, I have been praying for a GREAT AWAKENING. Thanks for this, Cindy! P.S. Hear and believe, yes. Believe = being obedient (I just learned that definition!)!
Thanks Cindy, believe it!
I’m so guilty of forgetting that first step Tom…thank you for reminding me to trust. (It seems to always come back to trust with me )
It always comes down to trust, EVERY TIME, doesn’t Robin?!! No matter how far we travel or how advanced we think we are it always comes back to trusting HIM!! For all of us. Blessings.
Trust for sure – trust that God is faithful to instruct and encourage every time.
Thanks Dustin for dropping by I know you have been a busy man! Trust in Him and His timing!
