Today’s Scripture: For he was crucified in weakness, but lives by the power of God. For we also are weak in him, but in dealing with you we will live with him by the power of God. 2 Corinthians 13:4 ESV
Do we live like we believe God’s power is with us? I love how faithful our God is and I love it when He stands at the intersection of life and His Promises.
He is always standing there and yet how often do we not see or recognize His power. We claim His power yet live seeking the power found in the world. I am preaching to myself here (and maybe you).
Are your conversations with friends and acquaintances like mine? Wanting to do right yet perplexed on how to make this work in the world. Do we trust in God’s power? Do we live for God and by His power or do we live for appearances.
Just as Paul challenged the Corinthians here I am challenging myself and you. Testing ourselves are we living to do right or living to appear right. God is good and His power is with us to live right and be who He created us to be.
Do you really believe God’s power is with you?
Knowing God’s power is with you what will you do today? Live it.
Today’s Prayer: God, thank You for Your power and your Son. I know You are with me. Help me to live in Your power. Help me to act boldly and courageously trusting in Your power. Forgive me for seeking the false promises of power this world has to offer. My life is in Your power and help me to faithfully live there. Thank you for the grace of Jesus, Your love and the fellowship with Your Spirit. Amen

Christian Affirmations 4 Life
Knowing and doing are two different things (as you know). It is a daily struggle to live out what I know in my heart to be true.
Amen Bill that’s why I think it is important to constantly affirm God’s promises to us. To overcome our flesh with the power of His promises. He has promised His power and we have to come to realize and know we are powerless. Yes, moment to moment struggle that requires us to die to self and life this life in the body by our faith in Him and His power. Rolls off the tongue easier than application yet our hope lies in Him and His possibilities!! Blessings! I am not there yet I can affirm His promises and this gives me hope and comfort in His strength!
So timely! I talk of God’s power and yet if there’s a need in my life, like a change of heart, I completely forget…He IS able.
Have a great weekend Tom
Amen Robin, we are not yet with Him all things are possible. The more we accept our powerlessness the more we realized and experience His power, don’t we?! Yes HE IS ABLE! Now if we will step aside…Thanks and wishing you a great weekend too!
I truly love the question you posed today to your readers and it’s a great one to make a person really think..Because I have talked to people who say that they are really a Christian but when I take it a step further and ask them do they have a relationship with Jesus they say what is that? That tells me that they don’t. In our society so many use the word Christian but yet don’t know what it really means…Have a great day and love the post
Thank you Desiray and yes I know by my experience that for years I thought I was a Christian because I knew ABOUT God but I did not really know Him. I did not spend enough time with Him to have a “relationship”. It is all about the relationship and trusting His power over our own. That is why I praise God for the time in my life I was broken to the point where I had to realize, accept and confess my powerlessness. It was there on my knees before Him that I began to know Him and seek that relationship. It was there He impressed upon my heart the search for these affirmations of promise. I am thankful for His promises and His power!! I am also thankful for your presence and comments here. Blessings and His power to you as you continue your ministry!!
This was a really good one, Tom. Tough, but needed! Thank you for helping me today, to look closer at what I am saying I believe . . .and then how I am actually living. I pray for the two to match up, with His help. God bless you as He keeps His promises real in your life!
Thank you Deb, praying with you that we live in His power. We can’t He can!
Beautiful…and powerful. Thank you, Tom, for this convicting and compelling reminder!
Beloved Father, I thank You for the power You give to me;
Wondrous it is to know You live with me for all eternity!
Lord, forgive me when I slip and forget that You are there;
Though exalted in Heaven, to each one of us You are near.
I promise to live in Your power, to do Your will courageously;
I know it is only by Your strength that I shall live in victory.
Worthy of praise and worship You are, O LORD, forevermore;
I shall live for You and You alone, for You are the One I adore!
Caroline, I love this “I promise to live in Your power, to do Your will courageously;
I know it is only by Your strength that I shall live in victory.
Worthy of praise and worship You are, O LORD, forevermore;
I shall live for You and You alone, for You are the One I adore!”…wow, talking about beautiful and powerful! May we we sing this every day!
