Colossians 3:15 is the source for this affirmation and states: And let the peace that comes from Christ rule in your hearts. For as members of one body you are called to live in peace. And always be thankful. (NLT)
Do I “let” the peace of God rule in my heart? Dictionary.com says “let” is to allow or permit. So today I have a choice. Do I allow the peace of God to rule in my heart or do I block it with my old ways or the ways of this world?
In the beginning of Colossians we are told that after our old self died and we were raised with Christ we should seek His things. We should look for what He likes. Set your mind on things above, not on things on the earth. (NKJ). Now that we have been raised in Him let’s keep our minds on His things and not ours or the things of this earth. Dictionary.com com says to “set” is to put or place in a proper position.
In chapter 3 and verse 5 we are called to “put” to death those things that were of our old selves prior to being raised with Christ. Therefore put to death your members which are on the earth: fornication, uncleanness, passion, evil desire, and covetousness, which is idolatry. (NKJ)
Paul is obviously telling us we have a choice in what we do today. Do we let, set and put our thoughts and focus on God’s things today? Or do we let, set and put ourselves and our weak flesh and problems in His place.
What do you choose today? Will you let the peace of Christ rule in your heart or will you hold onto your old self your hold ways that you have allowed to rule your heart. Will you set your mind on His things and not your things? Will you put to death those things that used to hold you captive?
We have a choice as to who we serve today. We have a choice as to where we put our minds and hearts today. May we seek His things and may we all His peace to rule our hearts. May we rise victoriously and seek him and embrace His peace that is beyond our understanding.
What will you choose today? Will you let His peace rule?

Okay…tooooo weird. I’m sitting here still sipping coffee and starting to feel nervous over some “things”. I dropped in to see what God & you were up to this morning God reaches out to me.
I have to take my thoughts captive and set my mind on His purpose if I want to let go of the frantic feelings and enter into peace…
So glad I stopped by~

Some days it’s a battle. I had to be intentional in choosing peace yesterday and I have a feeling today will be more of the same. Nevertheless…I choose peace.
