Share the post "Affirmation of God: I have strength and courage because I know God is with me wherever I go."
Do you have a big day planned? Do you get a little anxious about what you will face today? Do you dread what you have to face? I could imagine that Joshua was feeling a little stressed as he prepared to lead more than 2 million people into the Promised Land. After all, Moses had some pretty big shoes to fill.
Today’s Affirmation comes from: Joshua 1:9: “Have I not commanded you? Be strong and courageous. Do not be terrified; do not be discouraged, for the LORD your God will be with you wherever you go.” (NIV)
I pray too we are where God has commanded us to be. Whether we think we are where we are by design, chance or error we can still be and do what God has commanded us to.
He has commanded each of us. We are to be strong and courageous. We can put aside the fear and discouragement. We must keep moving forward confidently knowing God is with us. He does say “WHEREVER” you go. He is the LORD, the great YHWH. YOUR GOD, MY GOD and this God is with us wherever we go.
Ignore that little voice that says, yeh but, He didn’t mean here where I am. Yes, He did. No matter where, WHEREVER. He is there and He will help you find the strength. Turn to Him, rely on Him. In Joshua 1:13 he reminds them that God will give them rest. “…‘The Lord your God is giving you a place of rest. He has given you this land.’
Keep pushing, He will give us rest. We just have to go with all the strength and courage we have knowing our God is with us. After these battles, God will give us the rest and the land He has called us to.
- Do you KNOW God is with you? On a scale of 1-10, how confident are you?
- Are you where God has commanded you to be?
- Are you headed into your promised land?
- Do you need strength and courage today?
May we praise our God today and thank Him for being with us wherever we are. Be bold, be courageous know He is with you. Go for it and you will find rest.

Tom: I am with you on this one. I had an implant done in my mouth today and needless to say there was some “concern” without anesthesia. I prayed for just what you have stated here. Thanks for the reminder although I read it afterwards.
Bill, thanks for dropping by after you implant. You are a trooper my friend. Thankful God gave you the strength and courage you needed to make it through and I am glad you felt well enough to swing by!
Tom
I’m a day late (are you surprised!?) This is EXACTLY what I need for my day…I woke in the night feeling nervous about some things…read this and I promise … immediate sense of peace. If I’m doing what God wants me to do…I need not worry or stress.
Wonderful word my friend. Have a day full of strength and courage!

You too Robin. I am so thankful for His peace and your confirming word. He shows us over and over that He is there yet we become anxious. Thank God we can quickly be reminded by His word and each other that He is with us wherever we go. I am praying Robin that you do have the strength and courage today to face the day and feel God with you! (of course you may see this tomorrow- HA). God has perfect timing!
Thanks Tom for the insights…Your second question “Are you where God has commanded you to be?”…My full time job is working at a church (facilities and special events)…I have been feeling a little “out of sorts” thinking about this very topic…am I doing what God wants me to do? is the question I keep asking…I will keep praying and seeking!
Kevin, sorry for the delay. I have read your message and I am praying with you for clarity! Thank you for dropping in. Father God continue to guide Kevin and show Him the way in your perfect timing. I pray You show yourself to him and speak to his heart.
