Today’s Scripture: For this reason I bow my knees before the Father, Ephesians 3:14 ESV
No matter the reason, bowing our knees to the Father is the beginning. I am not speaking figuratively, hypothetically, rhetorically, or any otherally but am speaking of kneeling before the King of kings. I recall early in my new found relationship with God I was explaining the AMAZING difference in my life that kneeling before God had made. It haunts me to this day that the person I was sharing with said in a weak voice with a turned up nose, “do you think you really have to kneel?”
Is it too much to ask?? I said I didn’t think you HAD to kneel but it sure made a difference in me. After reading Paul’s letter this morning and seeing that he would physically bow his knees I have come to believe it is vital. Now I understand some can not physically do this but if we can I have found, in my experience, this is where God reveals Himself.
As we kneel we find these things as promised in Ephesians 3: the endless treasures of Jesus, the power and strength of the Spirit and come to know the love of God. As we kneel our roots go into God, Christ dwells in our hearts and we are filled with the fullness of God. Do you really have to? Nope.
Today’s Prayer: Mighty God, thank You for Jesus and Your Spirit which allow me to come boldly and confidently to You. As I kneel before You Father I praise You and glorify You. In You Father I place my trust. Your endless treasures amaze me and I come to know You and Your love. Nourish me Father God and fill me with Your love. Amen.

YES, we can come boldly and confidently. Thanks Tom!
Thanks Dustin!
I used to always kneel to pray until the knees and back started acting up. ‘Course it could also be an excuse for the inconvenience. Imagine that! And inconvenience to kneel before my Father. Thanks for the good word Tom.
Thanks Bill! You and I have discussed this before but that Nehemiah passage and the heart and tears of those people kneeling with heads bowed and hands raised just brings me a position with God that I just cherish the praise, sincerity and depth….Hopefully you can find some really nice beanbags or pillows for those knees, ha!!
It’s funny. My first thought at reading the title of this post was,
Yes. Every knee shall bow and every tongue shall confess that Jesus is LORD. And some of those folks are going to have their knee-caps broken. But they will still bow, nonetheless.
Sorry. It’s the warrior disciple in me speaking.
This is good stuff Tom. I enjoy kneeling and bowing my head before God in my prayer time and during worship. A little humility goes a looooong way.
Absolutely! I am thankful for your warrior spirit and yes, some knee caps will be broken- HA! I know for a FACT that when I was broken enough to hit my knees, my relationship with God changed from savior to LORD! Have a great weekend Donald!
Yes – and most importantly may we kneel our will and our hearts to His sovereignity and will.
Rachel
Beautiful point Rachel! I think you were able to state the real truth. Physical kneeling should ONLY be an outward sign of a kneeling will and spirit. Thank you for sharing. The secret to life in such few words!! Really appreciate it!
