Today’s Scripture: John 14:27, NKJV- “Peace I leave with you, My peace I give to you; not as the world gives do I give to you. Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid.”
Have you ever had moments where you struggled to find peace? There are times when our earthly condition struggles to shake our doubts or understandings. The Good News of Jesus Christ is great news for those needing peace. Jesus Himself tells us in John 14:27 that He has given us His peace. When our peace is just not enough, we have Jesus’.
I would suggest you take a few moments to read or listen to the 31 verses of John Chapter 14 today to be reminded of the POWERFUL promises of Jesus that change our lives. These are not momentary relief valves but eternal truths. Jesus changes more than our perspectives on life. While He was still on this earth, He spoke these words about a Heavenly Father greater than us, a Savior and source of peace in the person of Jesus Christ, and the Holy Spirit who Jesus sent to us to teach us all things and to remind us of everything He has said to us. (John 14:26)
We often “say” we have peace, but it is evident when we do not, isn’t it? We will always be sorely disappointed when we look for peace in this world. John 14:23 is the secret to lasting peace, “Jesus answered and said to him, “If anyone loves Me, he will keep My word; and My Father will love him, and We will come to him and make Our home with him.” (NKJV)
Living with Jesus and His Father is the place of true peace. It seems that giving our love and obedience to them are small prices to pay. John 14:20 is great news indeed “On that day you will realize that I am in my Father, and you are in me, and I am in you.” (NIV) Just when will we realize that we can put all our efforts away and simply receive the truth of Jesus?
In John 14:14, Jesus Himself promises us “If you ask anything in My name, I will do it.” (NKJV) Have you asked Jesus for HIS peace? If so, the great news is now you have it.
Today’s Prayer: Thank you, Jesus, for offering Your peace to me. I do accept Your peace, grace, and presence in me. Thank You, Lord, for Your Holy Spirit given to us to remind us of all Your words. Please use us to help spread Your peace and Good News. Amen.
