Scripture Reference: Genesis 1:4, ESV- “And God saw that the light was good. And God separated the light from the darkness.”
On my knees in the darkened room this morning I felt the warmth of God’s light upon my back and shoulders. As I looked heavenwards through my closed eyelids I could see the glow of God’s light. This glow warms my heart and soul.
Am I crazy? I do not know, but I do know God’s light is so good. As only the fourth verse in the bible, at this moment I knew that all the remaining thirty-one thousand verses in God’s Word also bask in His glow.
I remembered and could feel what I consider to be my life verse now, Ephesians 5:13 “But everything exposed by the light becomes visible, for everything that is illuminated becomes a light itself.” (BSB) I caught myself asking God to expose everything in me. I have also grown to trust that anything exposed does become a reflection of God’s light and it is good.
I looked on my phone to see if I had a picture that corresponds with what I was feeling this morning and I found a picture I had taken from an eleventh-floor window in a hospital just days after having open-heart surgery. The light reflecting off the heavens just prior to sunrise gives me the feeling of God’s light that is above all other light, and it is so good.
Do you take time to bask in God’s light? It is good.Prayer: Heavenly Father, thank You for being so good to us. Thank You for Your light that gives us life. Thank You for Your light that penetrates our souls. I am thankful for Your exposure of everything in me and I am trusting that it is also Your light that gives me light to shine for others. You LORD are so good to us. Thank you. Amen.
