Today’s Scripture: “Be still, and know that I am God. I will be exalted among the nations, I will be exalted in the earth!” Psalm 46:10 ESV
Can we still our minds, our bodies and our tongues long enough to know God? In the stillness we come to know Him and His low whisper.
We can hear His low whisper above the booming sounds of this world and our own minds. If we know He is God we can approach His throne with the utmost stillness.
Do we come to Him thinking we can bring something new to the table? Do we have the right words, the right list of things to ask? We have nothing new.
We only have to know that He is God and to be still. In the stillness is where we come to know Him more and more. In the stillness we come to recognize His voice, His direction, His will and His peace. The LORD Almighty is with us; are we with Him?
Will you be still before God today? Selah.
Today’s Prayer: Almighty Father, thank You for revealing Yourself in the stillness. Please forgive me when I care more to bring You my requests than to know You and Your desires. Thank You for Your low whispers that can be heard over the roaring sounds of the flesh and earth. I know You are God and I am still before You. Amen

Thank you, Tom. I needed this reminder!
It is difficult for most of us, living in this 24/7 LOUD live-action world, to be “still”. (By the way, I dug into your verses from yesterday again–and loved them again.) Today, on Marilyn Hickey’s program, her daughter was speaking from Ezekiel–the contrast between how God presents/manifests Himself in different circumstances: sometimes in fire on the altar (or bush), sometimes in the still small voice. I like that–that although He’s the same “yesterday, today and forever”, He shows up in whatever manifestation we will most likely need to see and hear Him–Because He is not willing that we should miss Him, due to outer distractions or inner distresses. And of course, even if we do miss Him, we needn’t fear–as He will ALWAYS come find us!! Now that’s worth a shout of HALLELUJAH! God bless you BIG today, brother Tom.
