Is there any other source of gladness that compares to the LORD? Have you found anything else where you can rejoice and feel the cares of the world lift from your shoulders? It is amazing how freeing and how burdens are lifted by praising the almighty LORD.
Today’s Affirmation was harvested from Psalm 32:11. So rejoice in the Lord and be glad, all you who obey him! Shout for joy, all you whose hearts are pure! (NLT)
What a great place to be! How do we get there? Can it be as simple as just letting go? The weight of sin and guilt is a heavy load. The common quote in recovery circles says “We are only as sick as our secrets.” John Baker in his Celebrate Recovery Confess lesson 12 says: “When we share our deepest secrets, we begin to divide the pain and the shame.” Yes, confession is good and freeing.
David said in Psalm 32:3-4 When I refused to confess my sin, my body wasted away, and I groaned all day long. 4 Day and night your hand of discipline was heavy on me. My strength evaporated like water in the summer heat. (NLT)
Refusing to come clean just hurts us and it is a heavy load. We become tired and weary. David could relate to our issues. David had guilt and sin just as we do.
But thanks be to God. He says if we ask Him for forgiveness He will forgive us. He will free us from this heavy load. Go ahead try it…See if you don’t feel the tension flee from your tight shoulders.
I love 32:7: “You are my hiding place.” God is the place I can run to and not worry. In 32:8 He promises to guide us and show us the way. Just trust the Lord and you will be free.
Is your burden a heavy one? Go ahead confess it to God and He will forgive you and lift your load. Trust Him and He will.
Praise God for He is so wonderful! Hosanna and Hallelujah. Such freedom, such gladness. We can shout for joy that God is good and He has forgiven us for all of our sins and we are no longer bound.
Yes, we can rejoice today. Just confess to Him and trust. Selah.
