It’s a God thing. Just has to be sometimes. We humans just don’t have what it takes at times. But God shows Himself at all times. Romans 5:5 is the source for today’s affirmation. In the God’s Word Translation of the Holy Bible this statement stood out.
“We’re not ashamed to have this confidence, because God’s love has been poured into our hearts by the Holy Spirit, who has been given to us.”
This verse is coming off the verses in Romans 5:1-4 which are describing a peace and a hope that can only come from God and His Holy Spirit. A peace and a hope beyond our understanding.
Verse 1: We have a peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ
Verse 2: Our faith gives us a grace we can stand on; a hope to rejoice in
Verse 3: We can shout our praises even in times of trouble or suffering and that our troubles produce perseverance.
Verse 4: Perseverance, character; character, hope
Verse 5: This hope does not disappoint and we can have this confidence because God’s love has been poured out into our hearts by the Holy Spirit, who was given to us.
How can we praise Him in times of troubles, suffering and all tribulations? The power of the Trinity is shown here in these five verses of Romans five. God demonstrated His love for us that while we were all still sinners, dead in our sins, He died for us in the person of Jesus Christ. We were saved by his life and declared not guilty by the free gift. Because of His life we have life. In this life we have a love poured out in us by the Holy Spirit.
God and His word are amazing. His promises, His love, His free gifts do not disappoint. I have a confidence that can only come from Him and the Holy Spirit He has given to us.
Can you hang on to praising God in times of trouble and suffering? Do you believe that this suffering produces perseverance, which produces character, which produces hope? Have you ever experienced this hope?
Hope and love poured out into our hearts. All this was given to you and me. Amazing! A God thing. God I love you. Do you find other affirmations in Romans 5? I am up to 27 and still being amazed. God is soooo GREAT!

Debi, I am moved by your faith. Thank you for sharing the reality of the hope of God in our every day issues. God I praise you for allowing Debi to remind me to trust You in life and flesh issues and rather than react emotionally to stand on your promises in faith. Debi, I was travelling yesterday on business and missed your reply and already did a search for today’s affirmation. Your testimony is giving me an insight into a verse that stood out to me this morning about boldness and the word or God. As we more regularly live and trust in His word the more boldly and confidently we may approach the next issue with faith and hope. Thanks for your encouragement of these affirmations. Trust me they do spur me on when I am physically and mentally tired to be reminded of what God is doing here. Thank you my sister for your encouragement and prayers.
