Today’s Affirmation: By the Grace of God I am what I am.
What is your story? We all have a story of who we are and what we have experienced. By God’s grace we are who we are. No matter the story we can glorify the Father. Our darkest hours and our brightest moments may be used for His glory and to help our fellow man.
This daily affirmation comes from 1 Corinthians 15:10 where Paul says “…But by the grace of God I am what I am…” Paul states this after saying in 15:09 that he was not worthy to be called an apostle because he had persecuted church. Paul, not worthy; where does that leave me? I am reading from the Holy Scriptures that this guy Paul wrote around 2000 years ago and he isn’t worthy?!
Yes, thanks to the Grace of God, I, even I am one who God can make worthy. I have been stuck on a song by Mercy Me for the past 2-3 weeks. This is not a new song I had just never heard it. It is called No More, No Less. This has become my theme song with words like:
“I am not trying to be something I am not, this is all I have got.” This is who I am no more no less. I am just a man who understands because of you I am blessed no more, no less. It is all about the change.”
1 Corinthians 15:52, Paul says it is all about the change. We will all be changed. In a moment, in the twinkling of an eye… May we be changed by the grace of God and be used today for His glory. Don’t let the evil one make you think you are not worthy. All of our stories are worthy of Him who died for us.
He has used my story of addiction and self serving faith to break me and draw me to Him. Now I can share with others that who they are, regardless of whether they feel they are worthy or not is their story. Not one of shame but one of truth and change. No more, no less.
- What have you experienced in your life, good or bad that can help others?
- Do you worry about shame or not being worthy?
- Has anyone else’s story ever helped you to realize you weren’t alone and you could make it through? Find love where you didn’t think it possible?
- Who do you think would benefit most from your story?
Thanks to the grace of God we are who we are. Let’s encourage each other not to waste it. The good, the bad and the ugly is who we are; no more, no less.
May we take who we are today and help someone who is hurting and give them hope.

Good post Tom. I recently had someone come from a former church I pastored who needed to talk to me about something he was struggling with. he remembered me saying something to him years ago about my struggle. I believe all that happens to us should be seen as an opportunity to possibly minister to someone else who is hurting.

I am all over that Bill. I sooo agree! I praise God for my addictions as they brought me close to Him and for the first time in my life showed me my purpose. My purpose is to serve His kingdom with my story. Love the healing in hurting people when they realize it is OK!! Thanks for the header message. Just trying out another of the standard ones but like you saw the path or journey and we are on our way. Have a great day! Loved your wedding message! Check out that Mercy me song on you tube if you haven’t heard it. No more, No less.

“Funny” that you would post this today…God has a “funny” way of making His point over and over again sometimes to me!

Don’t let the evil one make you think you are not worthy. All of our stories are worthy of Him who died for us.
“Don’t let the evil one make you think you are not worthy.” ~ is exactly what Imeant when I posted Britt Nicole’s song yesterday! There is a line that says…
“Your insecurities try to alter you………………….. ” Satan is really attacking me these days through my “shortcomings” and “insecurities”.
Thank you for this Affirmation from God that “I AM WORTHY”!
God seems to be shouting at me…..maybe it’s about time I sat up and listened ~ because another friend posted
Psalm 139
13For You formed my inward parts;
You wove me in my mother’s womb.
14I will give thanks to You, for [a]I am fearfully and wonderfully made;
Wonderful are Your works,
And
my soul knows it very well.
I prayed verse 13 the whole time I was pregnant and I tell the kids verse 14 every single day! But most days I do not believe it for myself……

Thanks Cyndy! Isn’t God Great and amazing how He has to hit us over the head sometimes. So confirming when we hear the message clearly.

Tom, songs are more a part of life than we realize. I love all styles of music, but the first one that came to my mind, was “Thanks to Calvary” by George Younce. It is by God’s grace that we are who are but thanks to Calvary we are not the person we used to be. May God continue to open doors of ministry for you.

Thanks Patsy, I am really beginning to get the praise and worship of music. I had historically not been that much into music but am really grasping the importance of praise and singing to the Lord! Thanks for sharing!
