Today’s Scripture: Ephesians 1:4, NLT- “Even before he made the world, God loved us and chose us in Christ to be holy and without fault in his eyes.
God’s Word is amazing! Our LORD is so far beyond our conception it is humbling. Yet, from wherever we are and whatever we possess, we can praise Him. I am struggling to believe that over all these years and thousands of recorded affirmations that I have never once written the words “Thank You God for choosing us.”
A sense or personal gratitude and responsibility come when we say “Thank You God for choosing me.” Why did God choose you? Do we live and act today as if we believe that God has already chosen us? Do we react to our failures as if we have already received the grace of Christ?
God chose and designed us to live in Christ. We humans fight and scratch for survival. We strive and promote ourselves for earthly riches, yet all along God promised us His riches.
In Ephesians 1:7-10 the Apostle Paul shares “ In Him we have redemption through His blood, the forgiveness of sins, according to the riches of His grace which He made to abound toward us in all wisdom and prudence, having made known to us the mystery of His will, according to His good pleasure which He purposed in Himself, that in the dispensation of the fullness of the times He might gather together in one all things in Christ, both which are in heaven and which are on earth—in Him. (NKJV)
God knew that we would be reliant on Him and the grace of Jesus Christ before He created us. As John 1:1-3 teaches us “In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. He was in the beginning with God. All things were made through Him, and without Him nothing was made that was made.” (NKJV)
God did not send Jesus to earth because He came to some realization that we just could not save ourselves. He knew it before He created us. He is not surprised when we mess up even today. He formed us in our mother’s wombs with free will while knowing we would need help to find His will. He designed us to need Him and Jesus Christ.
We can choose to live in God’s riches today because He has already chosen us.
Today’s Prayer: Heavenly Father, thank You for choosing me. Thank You for loving me and giving me the grace of Jesus Christ. I am asking for Your Holy Spirit to grant me wisdom and understanding to live has You have chosen. May Your will be done in and through me today. I am praising You now for the riches of Your grace. In the name of Jesus Christ, I do pray. Amen.
